States Park Dorpers

States Park Dorpers is located in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. We are situated half an hour south of Adelaide city at Onkaparinga Hills.

At States Park Dorpers I am very proud to have some of the very best Dorper bloodlines available in South Australia.  Our foundation ewe flock has been sourced from Kaya - argueably the top breeding stud in Australia, and their foundation stock is derived from the very best bloodlines in South Africa which is where Dorpers originated.

The States Park Dorper stud is made up of predominently Type 4 and Type 5 elite stud Dorpers.  (please see tab on The Breed / Brred Standards, if you are unsure of how Dorpers are typed / classed).

Our top stud ram is argueably the BEST stud Dorper ram in South Australia, and is one of the few Type 5, Conformation 5  elite stud rams in Australia.  This ram has been a Kaya stud sire and has been used extensively in their breeding program before coming to States Park.

My focus is on breeding Dorpers that are WELL MUSCLED, shed 100%, have great conformation, good sound feet, and are very fertile good mothers that produce mainly twins.

Another important quality of our Dorpers is their temperament - one of the things that makes them such a joy to be around.  I love being able to have them follow me to the sheep yards rather than having to chase them, or to have them eat sheep treats straight out of my hand.

With having some of the best Dorper genetics available in South Australia, one of our growing markets is to the lifestyle or hobby farmers.  With so many small acreages in the Adelaide Hills, and the need for vegetation to be kept low to minimise fire risk, the demand for sheep has increased.  What better sheep than a Dorper - no shearing, wonderful nature with the benefit of meat for the freezer - no wonder the demand for Dorpers continues to soar.

I am extremely proud of my sheep and am very happy to show them to anyone. Please feel free to contact me to arrange a convienent time to come and visit.
